Target Information

MEOX2 is a mesodermal transcription factor essential for somitogenesis and sclerotome development.
It activates CDKN1A and CDKN2A expression in endothelial cells, regulating vascular cell proliferation.
CDKN1A activation occurs in a DNA-dependent manner, while CDKN2A activation is DNA-independent.
May play a regulatory role when quiescent vascular smooth muscle cells reenter the cell cycle.
