Target Information
RAP80는 처음에는 고환에서 높은 발현을 보이는 아연-핑거 핵 단백질로 확인되었으며, retinoid-related testis-associated receptor (RTR)와 상호작용합니다. 이후 연구에서 RAP80은 Coiled-coil domain 98 (CCDC98) 단백질에 의해 BRCA1 단백질로 유도되어, 이온화 방사선으로 인한 DNA 손상에 반응하는 BRCA1 포커스 형성을 가능하게 한다는 것이 밝혀졌습니다. RAP80과 CCDC98은 DNA 손상 저항성, G2-M 체크포인트 제어, DNA 수리에 필요합니다. 두 단백질 중 하나가 결핍된 세포는 BRCA1 결핍 세포보다 덜하지만, 이온화 방사선에 대한 민감도가 증가합니다. 이는 RAP80과 CCDC98이 BRCA1의 DNA 손상 반응 역할 중 일부만 조절함을 시사합니다. 현재 최소 4가지 RAP80 isoform이 알려져 있습니다.
