MA5-14054 targets CD23 in IHC (P) applications and shows reactivity with human samples.
The immunogen used is the recombinant external domain of the CD23 protein.
Target Information
CD23 is a 45 kDa glycoprotein expressed on a subset of freshly isolated peripheral blood and tonsil B cells, and strongly expressed on EBV-transformed B lymphoblasts. It is identical to the low-affinity IgE receptor found on B cells.
CD23 expression has been observed in neoplastic cells from B cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia and some centroblastic/centrocytic lymphoma cases. Functionally, CD23 is involved in B cell growth, differentiation, and IgE production.
A soluble form of CD23 acts as a potent mitogenic factor. Diseases associated with CD23 dysfunction include chronic conjunctivitis and chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
