Target Information

PIASy functions as an E3-type small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) ligase, stabilizing the interaction between UBE2I and substrates, and as a SUMO-tethering factor.
It plays a key role in transcriptional coregulation within cellular pathways such as STAT, p53/TP53, Wnt, and steroid hormone signaling.
PIASy mediates sumoylation of CEBPA, PARK7, HERC2, MYB, TCF4, and RNF168, represses LEF1, and enhances TCF4 transcriptional activities through sumoylation.
It also enhances MTA1 sumoylation and may participate in paralog-selective sumoylation.
