Product Specific Information
- In direct ELISAs and Western blots, approximately 10% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) TAFA3 and rhTAFA4 is observed, and less than 2% cross-reactivity with rhTAFA5 is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
- Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of the antibody by the LAL method.
Target Information
The TAFA2 gene belongs to the TAFA family, which consists of five highly homologous genes encoding small secreted proteins. These proteins contain conserved cysteine residues at fixed positions and are distantly related to MIP-1α, a member of the CC-chemokine family. TAFA proteins are predominantly expressed in specific brain regions and are postulated to function as brain-specific chemokines or neurokines that regulate immune and nervous cells.
