Target Information
Caspase 9 (ICE-like apoptotic protease 6, ICE LAP6, Mch6, Apaf3)는 CARD 도메인을 포함하는 peptidase family C14의 구성원입니다. Caspase는 세포사멸(apoptosis)을 매개하는 cysteine protease로, 비활성 전구체 형태로 존재하며 특정 기질의 절단을 통해 활성화됩니다.
활성화된 Caspase 9은 세포질에서 미토콘드리아로 이동하며 Caspase 3 및 Caspase 6을 절단·활성화하여 세포사멸 경로를 촉진합니다. 또한 Apaf-1과 결합하여 caspase-3 활성화를 유도하고, DNA 손상 유도성 세포사멸 및 PARP 절단에도 관여합니다.
Caspase 9은 다양한 인체 조직에서 발현되며, 결핍 시 뇌 발달 이상이나 신경 발달 장애가 나타날 수 있습니다. 낮은 Caspase 9 발현은 암 및 알츠하이머병과 같은 신경퇴행성 질환과 관련이 있을 수 있습니다.
