Antibody detects endogenous levels of eNOS only when phosphorylated at Threonine 495.
Target Information
Nitric oxide (NO) is an inorganic, gaseous free radical that mediates various cellular processes such as vasorelaxation, neurotransmission, and cytotoxicity. NO production is catalyzed by nitric oxide synthase (NOS) enzymes, which oxidize L-arginine to produce L-citrulline and NO.
There are three NOS isoforms:
- nNOS (neuronal, type I)
- iNOS (inducible, type II)
- eNOS (endothelial, type III)
All NOS isoforms contain binding domains for calmodulin, NADPH, FAD, and FMN.
