Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Bnc1 is a 994-amino-acid transcription factor specific for squamous epithelium and keratinocytes at early differentiation stages. It contains three pairs of zinc fingers and a nuclear localization signal. Bnc1 shuttles between the nucleus and cytoplasm depending on cell proliferation potential. Phosphorylation at Ser-537 and Ser-541 induces cytoplasmic localization. It is expressed in epidermal basal layers, hair follicles, and germ cells of testis and ovary, and to a lesser extent in thymus, spleen, mammary glands, placenta, brain, and heart. Bnc1 is implicated in keratinocyte proliferation, rRNA transcription regulation, and germ cell differentiation.
