Target Information

Zika virus (ZIKV), a member of the Flaviviridae family, possesses a single positive-sense RNA genome that is translated as a polyprotein, subsequently cleaved into three structural proteins (C, PrM/M, and E) and seven nonstructural (NS) proteins (NS1–NS5).
The glycosylated NS1 forms intracellular homodimers essential for viral replication and is secreted as a hexameric lipoprotein particle. This secreted form aids immune evasion and pathogenesis by interacting with components of both innate and adaptive immune systems.
