Product Specific Information

This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, chicken, canine, amphibian, mouse, porcine, and rat based on sequence homology.
Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 10 mM citrate buffer (pH 6.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is lung tissue.

Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the claudin family. Claudins are integral membrane proteins and components of tight junction strands.
Tight junction strands serve as a physical barrier to prevent solutes and water from passing freely through the paracellular space between epithelial or endothelial cell sheets, and also play critical roles in maintaining cell polarity and signal transductions.
Differential expression of this gene has been observed in various malignancies, including breast, ovarian, liver, urinary, prostate, lung, head and neck, and thyroid cancers.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
