Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: Heat sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
FOLH1 encodes a type II transmembrane glycoprotein of the M28 peptidase family. This protein functions as a glutamate carboxypeptidase acting on substrates such as folate and N-acetyl-L-aspartyl-L-glutamate. It is expressed in prostate, central and peripheral nervous system, and kidney. Mutations may lead to impaired folate absorption and hyperhomocysteinemia. In prostate cancer, the protein is upregulated and serves as a diagnostic and prognostic marker. Alternative splicing produces multiple isoforms.
