Target Information

The C/EBP (CCAAT/enhancer binding protein) family of transcription factors—alpha, beta, delta, and epsilon—are widely expressed proteins found in various tissues. These proteins contain a conserved five-amino acid regulatory domain motif (RDM) with the consensus sequence (I/V/L)KXEP.
C/EBP transcription factors play key roles in metabolic regulation in liver and adipose tissues and are involved in adipocyte differentiation.
C/EBP beta isoforms (LAP*, LAP, and LIP) differ in translation initiation and function in gene regulation.
Neurologically, C/EBPs are implicated in nerve growth factor signaling, synaptic plasticity, and inflammatory responses in Alzheimer’s disease.
