This antibody detects endogenous levels of CD66/CEACAM1 only when phosphorylated at Ser508.
Target Information
CEACAM1 (CD66a) is a member of the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) gene family, part of the immunoglobulin superfamily.
It is located within a 1.2 Mb cluster on chromosome 19, alongside CEA cell adhesion molecules and pregnancy-specific glycoproteins.
CEACAM1 functions as a cell-cell adhesion molecule found on leukocytes, epithelia, and endothelia, mediating homophilic and heterophilic interactions.
The protein is implicated in various biological processes, including:
- Tissue differentiation and structural organization
- Angiogenesis and apoptosis
- Tumor suppression and metastasis regulation
- Modulation of innate and adaptive immune responses
Multiple transcript variants exist, with two full-length isoforms identified.
