This antibody has specificity for Human STUB1.
Target Information
A recently identified protein, termed carboxyl terminus of hsc70-interacting protein (CHIP), interacts with both the constitutive form of hsc70 and the stress-inducible form hsp70. This 35 kDa cytoplasmic protein is highly expressed in striated muscle and across a wide range of cultured tissues.
Through immunoprecipitation experiments, CHIP has been shown to directly bind to the carboxyl terminus of hsc70 and hsp70, decreasing ATPase activity and reducing chaperone efficiency.
CHIP also functions in the ubiquitin-proteasome system as an E3 ubiquitin-ligase via its U-box domain, in conjunction with hsc70 and hsp90.
