This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

This antibody shows specificity for Human SULT2A1.

Target Information

SULT1 sulfotransferases exhibit N-sulfating activity toward carcinogenic heterocyclic amines and prefer phenols, whereas SULT2 enzymes act on hydroxysteroids and SULT3 family members target N-substituted aryl and alicyclic compounds.

SULT2A1 catalyzes the sulfonation of procarcinogen xenobiotics, hydroxysteroids, and bile acids, and is highly expressed in adrenal and liver tissues. It plays a key role in hepatic cholesterol homeostasis.

SULT2B1 consists of two isoforms, SULT2B1a and SULT2B1b, transcribed from the same gene via alternative splicing. Both are selective for the sulfation of 3β-hydroxysteroids such as pregnenolone, epiandrosterone, DHEA, and androstenediol. SULT2B1b is expressed in prostate, skin, placenta, and lung.
