Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine Leptin. Anti-Murine Leptin-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Murine Leptin matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Murine Leptin by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required.
This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Murine Leptin (500-P68Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Murine Leptin.

Western Blot:
To detect mLeptin by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL.
Used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant mLeptin is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Leptin is a 167 amino acid protein hormone involved in regulating body weight, metabolism, and reproductive function. It has a molecular weight of approximately 16 kDa and is encoded by the obese (ob) gene.
Leptin is mainly secreted by adipocytes, with smaller amounts produced in the stomach epithelium and placenta. Its receptors are highly expressed in the hypothalamus, T lymphocytes, and vascular endothelial cells.
Leptin regulates food intake, energy expenditure, and adiposity via hypothalamic receptors and also plays roles in hematopoiesis, angiogenesis, wound healing, inflammation, and immune responses.
Defects in leptin production can cause severe hereditary obesity in rodents and humans.
