Target Information

Histone H3 is one of the DNA-binding proteins found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. H3, along with four core histone proteins, binds to DNA to form the nucleosome structure. Histones play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability.
Post-translational modifications of histones can alter chromatin structure or facilitate transcription factor binding. The N-terminal tail of histone H3 undergoes various modifications such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, influencing key cellular processes.
