Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
This gene encodes coagulation factor XI, a component of the blood coagulation cascade. Factor XI exists in plasma as a zymogen and forms a homodimer linked by disulfide bonds. Upon activation by factor XIIa, it becomes factor XIa, a serine protease composed of two heavy and two light chains. Activated factor XI triggers the middle phase of the intrinsic coagulation pathway by activating factor IX. Defects in this factor can lead to Rosenthal syndrome, a blood coagulation disorder.
