Target Information
MARK4 is a serine/threonine kinase involved in microtubule organization in neuronal cells. The encoded protein is associated with the centrosome throughout mitosis and may play a role in cell cycle control. MARK4 expression is a potential cancer marker and may be implicated in Alzheimer’s disease. Pseudogenes of MARK4 are located on both arms of chromosome 3, and alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed.
