Target Information
NME4 is a protein kinase that transfers phosphate groups from ATP to specific amino acid residues in substrate proteins. This phosphorylation mechanism plays a key role in cellular signal transduction, regulating metabolism, transcription, cell cycle progression, cytoskeletal rearrangement, cell movement, apoptosis, and differentiation. The protein kinase family, comprising over 500 gene products, is one of the largest in eukaryotes and is divided into eight major groups based on catalytic domain sequences, including AGC, PKA/PKG, PKC, RAC/Akt, ARK, and RSK families.
