Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of Acetyl-alpha Tubulin only when acetylated at Lys40.
Target Information
Alpha Tubulin forms a heterodimer with beta tubulin, each approximately 55 kDa in molecular weight. These heterodimers are the fundamental building blocks of microtubules, which are cylindrical filamentous structures present in nearly all eukaryotic cells. Microtubules provide structural support, intracellular transport pathways, and play a crucial role in mitosis.
Multiple alpha and beta tubulin genes exist and are highly conserved among species. Alpha tubulin genes are similar to the mouse and rat Tuba1 gene, and expression is predominantly found in morphologically differentiated neuronal cells.
