Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytoplasmic actin-binding protein involved in neuronal growth. It belongs to the drebrin family, which is developmentally regulated in the brain.
A decrease in this protein level has been linked to memory disturbances in Alzheimer’s disease.
At least two alternative splice variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
