Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Directed against human PDK-1. A BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with PDK-1 protein from mouse, rat, and dog based on 92% homology with the immunizing sequence. Reactivity against homologues from other sources is unknown.
Target Information
PDK1 (3-phosphoinositide dependent kinase-1) is a serine/threonine protein kinase localized to the plasma membrane. It plays a vital role in insulin-induced glycogen synthesis, PKC activation, and activation of the AGC subfamily of protein kinases. PDK1 is involved in cellular responses to hypoxia and is essential for cell proliferation under hypoxic conditions. It protects cells against apoptosis induced by hypoxia and oxidative stress.
