Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum.

Target Information

MCL1 (Myeloid cell leukemia-1) belongs to the Bcl-2 family and is involved in cell viability regulation, differentiation, and apoptosis control. Isoform 1 inhibits apoptosis, while isoform 2 promotes it.
MCL1 expression increases in response to DNA-damaging agents such as ionizing radiation, UV, and alkylating drugs. It is associated with mitochondrial localization and complements bcl-2 expression during myeloid cell differentiation.
MCL1 interacts with pro-apoptotic Bcl-2 family members (Bim, Bak) to inhibit apoptosis. It is essential for embryogenesis and lymphocyte development and exists as two isoforms: MCL1L (anti-apoptotic) and MCL1S (pro-apoptotic).
