Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Immunoglobulin classes share the same basic structure of two heavy chains and two light chains (kappa, lambda; both ~22.5 kDa).
Kappa and lambda chains consist of variable and constant regions and are differentiated by the antigenic properties of the constant region.
The ratio of kappa to lambda is approximately 70:30.
Antibodies to the kappa light chain are useful for identifying leukemias, plasmacytomas, and certain non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas.
Demonstration of clonality in lymphoid infiltrates indicates malignancy.
