Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. These systems clone specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

Target Information

IRS-1 is a major substrate of the insulin receptor and is phosphorylated in response to stimulation by insulin, IGF-1, and IL-4. It undergoes phosphorylation on serine, threonine, and tyrosine residues across various tissues.

Casein kinase II mediates part of the insulin-stimulated phosphorylation of IRS-1. Thr 502 is identified as the major phosphorylation site in rat IRS-1, with Ser 99 as an additional site. These phosphorylation events are components of the intracellular insulin signaling cascade.

IRS-1 also contains three putative 14-3-3 binding sites (Ser 270, Ser 374, Ser 641), with the Ser 270 motif located in the phosphotyrosine binding domain responsible for insulin receptor interaction.
