Target Information
NOV (also known as IGFBP9/CCN3) is a member of the CCN family of secreted, cysteine-rich regulatory proteins. The full-length NOV protein contains four structural domains that confer distinct biological activities. Elevated NOV expression is associated with certain tumors, including Wilms’ tumor and most nephroblastomas, while decreased expression correlates with increased tumorigenicity in other cancer types. NOV also promotes cell adhesion and migration through specific integrins and interactions with heparin sulfate proteoglycans and fibulin 1C. Additionally, NOV exhibits proangiogenic activity.
