Target Information

Histone H3 is a DNA-binding protein found in the chromatin of all eukaryotic cells. Together with four core histone proteins, it binds to DNA to form the nucleosome structure. Histones play crucial roles in transcription regulation, DNA repair, replication, and chromosomal stability. Post-translational modifications of histones, such as methylation, acetylation, and phosphorylation, influence chromatin structure and gene expression. The N-terminal tail of histone H3 can undergo various modifications that affect cellular processes.
