Target Information
Nuclear receptor coactivator that directly binds nuclear receptors and stimulates transcriptional activities in a hormone-dependent manner. Coactivates expression in an agonist- and AF2-dependent fashion. Involved in coactivation of nuclear receptors for steroids (GR, ERs), retinoids (RARs, RXRs), thyroid hormone (TRs), vitamin D3 (VDR), and prostanoids (PPARs). Functions as a general coactivator and may also participate in NF-kappa-B pathway activation. Likely facilitates chromatin remodeling through interaction with histone acetyltransferase proteins.
