Target Information
Nuclear receptor coactivator that directly binds nuclear receptors and stimulates transcriptional activities in a hormone-dependent manner. Coactivates expression in an agonist- and AF2-dependent fashion. Involved in coactivation of various nuclear receptors, including steroid (GR, ERs), retinoid (RARs, RXRs), thyroid hormone (TRs), vitamin D3 (VDR), and prostanoid (PPARs) receptors. Functions as a general coactivator and may also participate in NF-kappa-B pathway activation. May facilitate gene expression via chromatin remodeling and interaction with histone acetyltransferase proteins.
