Target Information
Cardiac Troponin I (Cardiac-specific troponin I, TnI, Troponin I)는 심근에 존재하는 억제 단백질로, Troponin C (TnC) 및 Troponin T (TnT)와 복합체를 형성합니다. TnT는 tropomyosin에 결합하여 troponin-tropomyosin 복합체를 형성하고, TnI는 actin에 결합하여 근육의 얇은 필라멘트 내에서 위치를 고정합니다.
칼슘이 TnC의 조절 부위에 결합하면 TnI의 억제 영역이 actin에서 분리되어 myosin이 결합할 수 있게 되어 근육 수축이 일어납니다.
혈중 TnI 및 TnT 수준은 심근 손상의 중요한 진단 지표로 사용되며, 협심증과 심근경색을 감별하는 데 활용됩니다. 또한 Cardiac Troponin I는 혈관신생(angiogenesis)을 억제하는 기능을 가지며, 해당 유전자의 돌연변이는 가족성 비후성 심근병증(CMH7) 및 제한성 심근병증(RCM)을 유발합니다.
