This Ab204 monoclonal antibody detects human DDX5 protein, also known as DEAD box protein 5 and RNA helicase p68. It has been reported to cross-react with mouse and rat orthologs of DDX5.
- Applications Reported: Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.
- Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested by intracellular staining using Foxp3/Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Set (Product #00-5523-00).
- Recommended Protocol: Refer to “Staining Intracellular Antigens for Flow Cytometry, Protocol B” at www.thermofisher.com/flowprotocols.
- Usage: 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
- Excitation/Emission: 633–647 nm / 668 nm (Red Laser).
Target Information
DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD) motif, are putative RNA helicases involved in RNA secondary structure remodeling. They play roles in translation initiation, splicing, and assembly of ribosomal and spliceosomal complexes. Some members are implicated in embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, and cellular growth and division.
DDX5 encodes a DEAD box protein functioning as an RNA-dependent ATPase and proliferation-associated nuclear antigen, reacting with simian virus 40 tumor antigen. The gene comprises 13 exons, with alternatively spliced transcripts detected but no identified isoforms.
