Target Information
MAP4K4 (HGK) is a serine/threonine kinase that plays an important role in stress-activated MAPK signaling pathways and responses to environmental stress and cytokines such as TNF-alpha. It acts upstream of the JUN N-terminal pathway and interacts with adapter proteins such as Nck through the SH3 domain. HGK binds via its CNH regulatory domain to the N-terminal region of SPG3A.
Expression is ubiquitous across tissues; isoform 5 is abundant in the brain, while isoform 4 is predominant in the liver, skeletal muscle, and placenta.
