Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases catalyze the aminoacylation of tRNA by their cognate amino acid. Because of their central role in linking amino acids with nucleotide triplets contained in tRNAs, these enzymes are thought to be among the earliest proteins in evolution.
Two forms of tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase exist: a cytoplasmic form (WARS) and a mitochondrial form (WARS2).
WARS catalyzes the aminoacylation of tRNA(trp) with tryptophan and is induced by interferon. It belongs to the class I tRNA synthetase family. Four transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
