Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
After reconstitution, keep aliquots at -20°C for higher stability, and at 4°C with an appropriate antibacterial agent.
Glycerol (1:1) may be added for additional stability. Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles.

Cysteine protease ATG4B is an enzyme coded by the ATG4B gene.
Autophagy is a critical cellular homeostatic process that controls turnover of damaged organelles and proteins.
ATG4B acts as a deubiquitin-like protease with dual roles in the autophagy machinery.
It cleaves the C-terminal amino acid of ATG8 family proteins (MAP1LC3, GABARAPL1, GABARAPL2, GABARAP) to reveal a C-terminal glycine, which is essential for conjugation to phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) and membrane insertion.
ATG4B is mainly expressed in skeletal muscle, brain, heart, liver, and pancreas.
