Product Specific Information
Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material. After reconstitution, store aliquots at -20°C for higher stability, or at 4°C with an appropriate antibacterial agent. Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles.
Target Information
Autophagy related protein 16L (ATG16L1) is encoded by the ATG16L gene located on chromosome 2 in humans. Also known as WD30 or IBD10 (Inflammatory Bowel Disease 10).
ATG12 and ATG5 conjugate with each other and oligomerize with ATG16L to form an 800 kDa Atg16L complex. This complex facilitates coupling or lipidation of LC3 to phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), serving as a key marker for autophagy.
The ATG16L complex, along with ATG18 and ATG21, prevents premature cleavage of ATG8-PE by cysteine protease Atg4 until autophagosome completion.
