Target Information

In humans, the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) family of transmembrane transporters includes at least 48 genes and 7 gene subfamilies.
This gene belongs to the ABCA subfamily, typically encoding large proteins with multiple transmembrane α-helices forming a central transport chamber.
ABCA13 is predicted to contain two large extracellular domains and two nucleotide-binding domains, characteristic of ABCA proteins.
Alternative splice variants have been described, though their biological relevance remains uncertain.
