This antibody detects endogenous levels of total Arylsulfatase A (ARSA) protein.
Target Information
The ARSA gene encodes an enzyme that hydrolyzes cerebroside sulfate to cerebroside and sulfate. Defects in this gene cause metachromatic leukodystrophy, a progressive demyelinating disease leading to neurological symptoms and ultimately death. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene.
