Target Information
The PPP2R2A gene encodes an alpha isoform of the regulatory subunit B55 subfamily of protein phosphatase 2. Protein phosphatase 2 is one of the four major Ser/Thr phosphatases, involved in the negative control of cell growth and division. It forms a heteromeric core enzyme composed of catalytic and regulatory subunits, which interact with various regulatory proteins to modulate substrate selectivity and catalytic activity. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
