Product Specific Information
- For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
- For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) is a protein tyrosine kinase involved in specific cytokine receptor signaling pathways and is mutated in polycythemia vera. This kinase contains the catalytic domain (JH1) of JAK2. Activation of JAKs leads to phosphorylation of STAT (signal transducers and activators of transcription) proteins, which dimerize and translocate to the nucleus to modify transcription of numerous genes, including interferon-stimulated genes.
JAK2 is required for IFN-γ receptor complex initiation, while JAK1 functions as an amplifier. Mutations affecting JAK2 can cause Budd-Chiari syndrome, Polycythemia vera, Thrombocythemia 3, myelofibrosis, or Acute myelogenous leukemia.
