This antibody detects endogenous levels of PINK1 only when phosphorylated at Thr313.
Target Information
PINK1 (PTEN-induced putative kinase 1) protects cells from mitochondrial dysfunction by regulating autophosphorylation activity of mitochondrial genes. Its kinase domain is critical for protective effects. Mitochondrial proteins are essential for cellular energy regulation and stress adaptation, especially in brain cells with high energy demand. Disruption of mitochondrial structure or function in the brain is associated with neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease.
