Target Information
B3GNT8는 poly-N-acetyllactosamine (polyLacNAc) 합성에 관여하는 galactosyltransferase입니다. 이 효소는 Gal(β1–4)GlcNAc(β1–3)n 구조의 반복 단위를 형성하며, 인간 염색체 19q13.2에 위치한 B3GNT8 유전자에 의해 암호화됩니다.
HEK293 세포에서 과발현된 B3GNT8는 UDP-GlcNAc로부터 GlcNAc를 특정 기질에 전달하며, Mn²⁺ 의존적 활성을 나타내고 pH 7–7.5에서 최적 활성을 보입니다. 또한 α-1-acid glycoprotein 및 ovomucoid와 같은 N-glycan 기질에도 작용하며, β-1-2 branch에 대한 선호성을 보입니다.
HCT15 인간 대장암 세포에서 B3GNT8 과발현 시 polyLacNAc 및 β-1-6-branched N-glycan의 세포 표면 발현이 증가함이 보고되었습니다.
