Product Specific Information

Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 1 mM EDTA buffer (pH 8.0) for 10 minutes, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes. After retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
A suggested positive control is mesothelioma tissue.

Target Information

N-cadherin is a 140 kDa transmembrane protein that mediates calcium-dependent intercellular adhesion. It plays a crucial role in morphogenetic movements during development and regulates cell surface adhesion through homotypic interactions.
Its function depends on association with the actin cytoskeleton via interactions between its C-terminal region and cytoplasmic catenin proteins. This association is modulated by phosphorylation and dephosphorylation of beta-catenin.
N-cadherin contains five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region, and a conserved cytoplasmic tail. It is essential during gastrulation and for establishing left-right asymmetry.
