Target Information
Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO)는 막결합 당단백질로, 갑상선의 정상적인 기능에 필수적인 효소 역할을 합니다. 이 단백질은 thyroglobulin 내의 tyrosine 잔기의 요오드화 및 iodinated tyrosine 간의 phenoxy-ester 결합 형성을 촉진하여 thyroxine(T4)과 triiodothyronine(T3)과 같은 갑상선 호르몬 생성을 유도합니다.
TPO 유전자 변이는 선천성 갑상선 기능저하증, 선천성 갑상선종, 갑상선 호르몬 유기화 결함 IIA 등의 질환과 관련이 있습니다. 여러 전사 변이체가 보고되었으며, 일부의 전체 길이는 아직 완전히 규명되지 않았습니다.
