Target Information
The Jagged1 protein encoded by JAG1 is the human homolog of the Drosophila jagged protein. Human Jagged1 acts as a ligand for the receptor Notch1, a human homolog of the Drosophila Notch receptor. Mutations in Jagged1 are associated with Alagille syndrome. Jagged1–Notch1 signaling also plays a role in hematopoiesis.
