IRS-1은 다양한 조직에서 세린, 트레오닌, 티로신 잔기에서 인산화되며, casein kinase II에 의해 인슐린 자극 시 일부 세린/트레오닌 인산화가 매개됩니다.
Thr 502는 주요 casein kinase II 인산화 부위로, Ser 99 또한 추가적인 인산화 부위로 확인되었습니다.
IRS-1은 14-3-3 단백질의 결합 부위(Ser 270, Ser 374, Ser 641)를 포함하며, Ser 270 주변 모티프는 인슐린 수용체와의 상호작용에 중요한 인산티로신 결합 도메인 내에 위치합니다.
