Target Information

Uteroglobin, a member of the Secretoglobin superfamily (also known as Clara cell phospholipid-binding protein), is a multifunctional protein with anti-inflammatory and anti-tumorigenic properties. It binds small hydrophobic molecules such as phospholipids and prostaglandins.
This small, non-glycosylated protein is highly expressed in pre-implantation embryos and is secreted by non-ciliated Clara cells in pulmonary airways and other epithelial tissues.
Members of the Secretoglobin family are small, secretory homo- or heterodimers with high structural conservation. Uteroglobin is implicated in inhibition of cell migration, invasion, platelet aggregation, and T cell differentiation.
