ACY1 유전자는 아실화된 L-아미노산을 L-아미노산과 아실기로 가수분해하는 아연 결합 효소를 암호화합니다.
이 효소는 아실화된 아미노산의 대사 및 재활용에 관여하며, 인간 3p21.1 염색체에 위치합니다.
Small-cell lung cancer(SCLC) 세포주 및 종양에서 발현이 감소하거나 검출되지 않는 것으로 보고되었습니다.
이 효소는 돼지 아미노아실라제-1과 높은 상동성을 가지며, 아연 결합 효소 패밀리의 첫 번째 구성원입니다.
ACY1 유전자 변이는 중추신경계 결함과 N-아세틸화 아미노산의 소변 배출 증가를 특징으로 하는 아미노아실라제-1 결핍증을 유발합니다.
이 유전자는 대체 스플라이싱을 통해 여러 전사체 변이를 생성하며, 상위 유전자 ABHD14A와의 읽기-통합 전사도 존재합니다.
또한, 염색체 18에 관련된 유사유전자(pseudogene)가 보고되어 있습니다.
