Target Information
Glutamic acid rich protein (GARP)는 막대형 광수용체의 외부 분절에 위치한 가용성 단백질입니다. GARP는 VVEKKN/EE 반복 모티프 6개로 구성되어 있으며, 이 구조는 α-helix를 형성합니다. GARP의 기능은 완전히 규명되지 않았지만, phosphodiesterase 활성을 억제하여 cGMP turnover를 제한하는 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 현재 두 가지 splice variant가 확인되어 있으며, GARP1(전장형)과 GARP2(절단형)이 존재합니다. 또한 GARP는 세포막에 존재하는 cyclic GMP-gated channel의 β-subunit의 세포질 도메인과 상호작용합니다.
