Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. For extended storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid. Dilute only before immediate use.
This affinity-purified antibody is directed against human LC3B. BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence.
Target Information
LC3B (Autophagy Marker Light Chain 3B, MAP1A/MAP1B LC3B) is encoded by the MAP1LC3B gene in humans. It is associated with microtubule assembly and neurogenesis. LC3B plays a vital role in autophagy, a process for degradation of cytoplasmic components. Three LC3 isoforms undergo post-translational modifications during autophagy. Macroautophagy involves formation of double-membrane autophagosomes that fuse with lysosomes for degradation. LC3B mediates interactions between microtubules and cytoskeletal components and may be involved in cancer, aging, metabolic, neurodegenerative, and cardiovascular diseases.
